“Tidal Waves are Ayoba!”

Tidal Waves were greatly honored to be chosen as official backing band at the 2010 South African Music Awards in April, it was amazing to be part of such a prestigious production and well worth all the rehearsal time! Since then, it has been a whirlwind of traveling for the band, of which highlights include the Volume Rock Festival in Potchefstroom, the International Africa Festival in Germany and the Subterranean Rhythm and Blues Festival (STRAB) in Mozambique. We would like to thank everyone who supported us at these wonderful events, it was magic!

The boys are back home in time for FIFA fever, and we are loving the good vibes between the people of South Africa, uniting as one behind Bafana Bafana, and showing the world that the people of South Africa are one! As we are clearly operating in “African Time” there are a lot of last minute bookings over the World Cup period that have not been listed below as of yet. Tidal Waves have already performed at Tings an Times and News Café in June, and we would like to make sure that you know exactly when and where we will be over the next month for some Vastrap vibes! We would like to make special mention of the Southern Pulse Winter Tour, which aims to showcase artists throughout the Fifa World Cup Period, in the hopes of providing a true reflection of South African talent to foreign visitors and local fans alike, thus contributing to a sense of pride and confidence in the countries talent and creative capabilities during this historical time. Tidal Waves enjoyed a very successful tour of the Western Cape in March with the highlight being the legendary RAMfest as well as a sell out show at Klein Libertas Theatre. After which the band returned to Pretoria for three well attended shows, playing to their “home crowd.” We would like to thank you for your support, it is greatly appreciated!
