We would like to bring to your attention three very special events happening in April:

 

18 APRIL - MOONPRINT (A CONCERT FOR THE EARTH)


"Don't blow it - good planets are hard to find." - Time

Moonprint Productions is a Section 21 non-profit organization supported by Oppikoppi, Afriforum, Innovid, Greenpeace, Mondi, ABI, SAB, Distell and many more.

Our aim is to carry out the message of a greener earth to the people ofSouth Africa through the mighty medium of music; to make them awarethat we are hurting the earth but more importantly what each and everyperson can do to do help. We are excited to launch a ‘green portal’ via the first of our projects, the Moonprint/Spore op die Maan one day musicfestival, to be held in Centurion on 18 April 2009.

Artists include: Piet Botha (Jack Hammer), Dan Patlansky, Vana, Die Kaalkop Waarheid, Josie Field, Wysdiman, Gian Groen, Shap Shap, The Allen Wood Project, Tidal Waves, Stean van der Walt, Andreis Bezuidenhout and Black Cat Bone.

Gates open at 13h00 and bands start at 15h00 till late at night.
Tickets are R100 at www.tunegum.co.za and R120 at the gate.
All proceeds will go towards recycling. Please also bring black bags with any recycling materials such as plastic, glass, cans and paper.

24 APRIL - LINTON KWESI JOHNSON (LKJ) AND THE DENNIS BOVELL DUB BAND (U.K) LIVE AT NEWTOWN PARK, JHB - SUPPORTED BY TIDAL WAVES!

 

See the worlds first rasta-poet live on stage, supported by the Dennis Bovell Dub Band. Linton Kwesi Johnson was born on 24 August 1952 in Chapelton, a small town in the rural parish of Clarendon, Jamaica. He moved to London when he was 11 years old and has a rich history in both poetry and reggae music, with more than 25 years of recording history behind him.

30 April – TIDAL WAVES MUSIC VIDEO LAUNCH, TINGS AN TIMES, PRETORIA


Tidal Waves are ready to launch the music video for Rapolotiki (the politician ate the money)! Join us at Tings an Times on Thursday 30 April, share in the excitement of being the first to see the video, and then dance the night away listening to Original Music for Original People! Friday is a public holiday! Tidal Waves will be supported by the talented ION on the evening.
