Jack Mantis Band
...
This
is what you'll find in the music of the Jack Mantis Band. These gypsy
rockers will make love to your ears while taking you on a caravan of
musical bliss. The music is their heartsong, and Jacks voice their
portal. The lyrics speak of honesty and truth, reaching into internal
passion, and manifesting a range of compositions...rock, acoustic,
soulful blues, reggae...each taking the listener on a journey. And that
journey is best experienced in the live performances of Jack Mantis
Band.

With Jack's booming voice, acoustic guitar and didgeridoo
jams...Jimi Curves artful bass...Domenico Benigno's eclectic mastery on
the keys...and Jon Case's rich, rythmic charm...together they lead an
audience through this journey of swaying passion, bouncing joy, and
pounding rhythmic jams.

“Wrestlerish
are unlike anything else going on at the moment. I feel like I’m
reaching for words to explain something that must be experienced.
Wrestlerish are new, they are vaguely familiar in a warm way and they
are going to be huge.” ‐ Nathan Zeno (Levi’s
Music Mag)

Wrestlerish
is the brain child of songwriters Werner Olckers (Vocals and guitar)
and Jacques Du Plessis (Keys and vocals) and is completed by David
Grevler (Bass) and Gavin Flaks (Drums). After a whirlwind year of
touring and performing in 2009, the band has
now released their debut
album "The Rude Mechanical" in March 2010 through Rhythm Records.

With
the release of The Rude Mechanical, Wrestlerish has quickly become the
band that is on the tip of everyone's tongues. After critically
acclaimed performances at various nationwide festivals such as
Oppikoppi, Splashy Fen, Rocking the Daisies, Ramfest,
Oppiaarde and
Magic in the Music with MNET in 2009 and having shared stages with South
African legends Johnny Clegg, Mango Groove and Valiant Swart, the band
continues to prove it's mass appeal. Within the first few months of 2010
the band has already made giants strides, with their 2nd single "Oliver
Tambourine" being playlisted on 5fm and it's video hitting the top 3 on
the MK charts.
